Boltenhagen is much more than a beach resort. Natural cliffs, Marina Weiße Wiek, traditional seaside architecture, quiet paths through the Tarnewitzer Salzwiesen and a town centre filled with cafés, shops and fresh local fish give every visitor something to discover.
We have known the region for more than 30 years and are pleased to share both its best-known sights and its quieter corners. Tarnewitz is an ideal starting point for walks towards the coast and Weiße Wiek, while Schloss Bothmer near Klütz makes a rewarding cultural excursion inland. Boltenhagen pier
The pier lies in the centre of Boltenhagen and is easily reached from the main promenade. Excursion boats call here, and a walk along the pier offers open views across the Baltic Sea without getting your feet wet.
Marina Weiße Wiek – yacht harbour and fishing port
Marina Weiße Wiek combines a yacht harbour with Boltenhagen’s small fishing port. Watch the fishing boats return with their catch, enjoy the restaurants around the harbour or simply take in the maritime atmosphere. Sailing trips are also available locally.
Town centre and promenade
Boltenhagen’s attractive town centre offers cafés, restaurants and shops, together with the Kurpark and traditional seaside architecture. The promenades are made for an easy stroll, with the Baltic Sea always close by and plenty of peaceful places to pause.
Dünenpromenade
The Dünenpromenade runs along Boltenhagen’s coast and opens up wide views of the Baltic Sea and beach. It is a pleasant route for strolling or walking and offers several inviting places to stop and enjoy the surroundings.
Natural cliffs at Redewisch
Boltenhagen’s wilder side begins in Redewisch. The natural cliffs form a striking contrast to the sandy beaches in the centre. This quieter stretch of coast is shaped by boulders, fossils and occasional pieces of amber, as well as the history of this former inner-German Baltic Sea border region.
“Carolinchen” resort train
The small nostalgic “Carolinchen” resort train is a familiar sight in Boltenhagen. A journey from one end of the resort to the other offers a relaxed overview of the different districts and sights.
